Conservation International commissioned Catalyst to create a star-studded media event—featuring Bharrat Jagdeo, then-President of Guyana, and notable actors and business leaders—to launch “Team Earth,” an inter-disciplinary movement to protect rainforests around the globe. The Catalyst team, conceptualized, directed and executed the buildout of an origami rainforest over a 24-hour period, culminating with the media launch event. Catalyst’s execution of this performance art also included a live DJ, as well as hands-on origami lessons in the midst of New York City’s busy Gramercy Square Park.

Along with the artistic vision, Catalyst provided turnkey production and logistics services, including location scouting, permitting, production and AV, and coordination with NYPD, secret service agencies, and private security.

The star-studded event featured Bharrat Jagdeo, then-President of Guyana, actor Harrison Ford, business leaders Howard Schultz of Starbucks, Fisk Johnson from SC Johnson, educator Ann Friedman, and youth performers from Broadway Cares.
